Operation: Anchorage

Firstly, please don’t sue me, Bethesda.

Secondly, The Last Frontier is a-callin’!

I have the extreme privelage to visit a good friend of mine and his family in Sutton, Alaska for the next three weeks. But I’m flying into Anchorage, so the title is still relevant.

Hiking, fishing, gold mining, four wheeling, and much more are all on tap. Not to mention, THOUSANDS of pictures.

I’m really looking forward to this trip for several reasons:

1. An amazing opportunity to hone my photo and video skills in one of the most beautiful places on Earth

2. Time to catch up with a good friend and his growing family.

3. Helping to jumpstart my hopes of frequent travel.

4. Kick fear of the unknown to the curb.

5. Because Alaska.

I look foward to exploring a new place, and continue to grow as a photographer, videographer, and as a person.

I look forward to sharing my experiences with you all!

Nelson, Leslie, & The Mozz: (Great) Friends

Doing what you love is great. Doing what you love with friends? Even better.

Nelson and I have known each other since high school. After he returned from school, our friendship really picked up. We see each other regularly, and I can’t tell you enough what his friendship and guidance means to me! Leslie is the perfect match for Nelson, keeping him in line and being his better half. We have a running joke that I’m basically Leslie in guy form, and she’s me in gal form. That makes sense that Nelson would want to marry someone so alike to me. (Weird.)

Anyway, when Nelson and Leslie were looking for some updated family pictures, I didn’t hesistate to say let’s do it!

Nelson is a (great) pastor and writer, Leslie is a (great) interior designer, and Mozzy is a (great) dog. The made my job incredibly easy since they’re all so good looking. Mozzy took the lead here.

I always enjoy my time with this trio, and on this day it was no different!

My Friends; Aaron, Emily, & Cullen

I’ve known Aaron and Emily for a few years now. They were friends of friends, turned my friends. Make sense?

Aaron & Emily decided to put their good looks to use to make a good looking baby. Later named Cullen.

I’ve only met Cullen once. Mostly because he’s only 8 months old.

We decided it would be a good time to get some quality catch-up time, while visiting Holland, Michigan’s famous Tulip Time Festival.

Naturally, Michigan chose this day to bump the temperature up to the mid 80’s out of nowhere, and unleash it’s humidity powers that makes it feel like you’re walking through pea soup. And with the mass number of sweaty people around (myself at the top of the list), it smelled a little like pea soup too.

That is, until you become surrounded by literally thousands of colorful, feels-inducing tulips. Much more pleasant.

So to make a long story short, it was a nice time to play catch-up, and meet one of the chillest tiny humans I’ve ever had the good pleasure of meeting.

What a good looking family. (And photographer. You can’t see him, but trust me.)

Oh, and P.S.
No trip to Holland is complete without stopping in at New Holland Brewery for a refreshing cold one.
